About

Archita Bharadwaj (b. 1994, Assam, India) is a visual artist based in New Delhi, working primarily with fiber and textile based materials. Rooted in personal and collective histories, her practice explores themes of home, memory, and belonging.
From early experiences growing up around weaving looms, Archita carries fragments of her Assamese childhood—personal history that shaped her upbringing and continues to stay with her through her life in different cities across time and distance.
Living away from home, she finds herself drawn back, physically and emotionally, to the textures and spaces that shaped her early years. This inward reflection becomes a way to ask broader questions: How do we remember? How does our sense of home shift with movement and time?
Archita frequently travels between Delhi and Assam, maintaining a close relationship with traditional crafts and engaging in dialogues that bridge indigenous practices with contemporary art forms. She holds a BA in Political Science (Kamala Nehru College, University of Delhi) and an MA in Conflict Analysis and Peacebuilding (Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi). This interdisciplinary foundation informs her art making, bridging social inquiry and material exploration. She sees her practice as both personal and political, collaborative and reflective, grounded in storytelling, place, and process.
